Hof Weber
The Weber half-timbered house is a listed building that has been placed under a preservation order due to its great age.
The core of the building is a two-storey house, which was built in 1566 (date in simple notch carving on the archway). This makes it one of the earliest inscribed farmhouses in Lippe. In the 17th century, a stable extension was added to the front gable; in the 18th century, a chamber extension with a cellar was added to the rear gable. There was an external oven on the back gable, but this has been largely destroyed.
As a representative of the two-storey construction methodit is the earliest form of the Low German hall house. However, in Lippe, the two-storey buildingwas already replaced by three- and four-storey buildings in the 16th and 17th centuries. With its conversions and extensions (stable porch, chamber extension, smoke stage, etc.), the Weber house is an interesting example of the changes in small-scale farming living conditions over the last 400 years.Good to know
