From August 18 to August 20, 2018, the 118th German Hiking Day offered many exciting and varied hikes, cultural tours, a parade, a tourism fair, concerts, a varied stage program, and many other events. On August 18, 2018, “Die Schlager Giganten” performed with special guest Marianne Rosenberg, and on August 19, 2018, Michael Patrick Kelly performed in Detmold, the hiking day capital. Numerous hiking enthusiasts came to the closing event on Monday at the Waldbühne to look back on the past few days and bring the event to a close together.
Unfortunately, the hiking day passed far too quickly, but beautiful memories remain.

At the foot of the Hermann Monument, in the middle of one of Germany's most important hiking regions, the WALK Hiking Competence Center has been established. The Teutoburg Forest is thus no longer just the ideal starting point for eventful hikes and bike tours through Lippe, but also an exclamation mark that shines far beyond the land of Hermann.

On April 10, 2016, the hiking season kicked off with a family festival centered around WALK. Guests enjoyed a fantastic program of events for young and old alike. They were able to climb the monument free of charge and enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view of Lippe's landscapes. Free short tours on the history of the Hermann Monument were also offered.

In addition to the Lila Bühne theater group's performance of “Wurzel di– Wurzel da,” there was a treasure hunt for children. Short hikes around the Hermanns area under expert guidance and a health hike from the Externsteine to the Hermanns Monument were also on the program.

Lippe culinary! 2019

Several outstanding chefs, cocktail and coffee experts, and food connoisseurs from the Lippe region have come together to present three days of dishes from all corners of the world for visitors to sample. Classic dishes from Lippe will also be on offer to tempt the taste buds.

The new concept aims to attract large numbers of people to the castle grounds. Delicious tasting stations offer samples of their delicacies – Back To The Roots – back to the beginnings. A simplified situation for restaurateurs – no table service, but self-service with a central clearing service in two large tents to protect against various weather scenarios – rain or heat. The royal house provided additional rest and relaxation areas, e.g., for a children's program during the event. People came closer together again. The best thing, of course, was the large number of visitors in glorious weather and a very special atmosphere.

Art & Lifestyle – In the Name of the Lippische Rose 2006 to 2013

The Lippe rose is a symbol that probably comes to mind for every Lippe resident, consciously or unconsciously, when they think of their homeland. It can be seen just as often on the facades of proud town houses as on the beams of historic half-timbered houses. Wherever it appears, it catches the eye of the observer and proclaims the Lippe residents' attachment to their region. It is the beautiful centerpiece of the Lippe flag and the smallest but certainly most beautiful symbol in the coat of arms of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Lippe rose is a symbol of home that is second to none. “It's high time that our rose was finally celebrated as it deserves.” A program for young and old blossomed around and inside the castle barn. Lifestyle in a great atmosphere. The trend was whatever appealed, allowing visitors to be captivated by a special event. This event showcased selected products and services from the fields of garden design and maintenance, garden accessories and furniture, plants, special perennials, fine roses, fashion, jewelry, design, and wellness. A colorful supporting program was complemented by art exhibitions on the theme of roses. One highlight was always the presentation of the art and design award.

Against the unique backdrop of the castle, the park, and the elegantly rustic barns, well over 100 exhibitors and marketers presented their wares, including artisans and exhibitors offering jewelry, fashion, decorations, and home accessories.

The journey of carrots and other produce from the farm to the consumer was presented in a vivid and entertaining way in a special supporting program. The focus this weekend was on the abundant supply of fruit, vegetables, and wine from the OWL region.

During the gourmet days, the little ones cooked with the grown-ups, as a children's cooking show was organized where the homemade delicacies made with regional products were tasted. Visitors were able to take part in the live cooking shows, where the children prepared something delicious from regional foods.

Experience live entertainment with Max Mutzke
We searched for and found 1,000 good reasons to meet and enjoy ourselves at the Waldbühne. On September 25, 2016, there was a cocktail mix of wine, tarte flambée, burgers, wonderful music, and a unique atmosphere under the protection of Hermann.

In late summer, the Waldbühne at the Hermann Monument hosted another special highlight after Max Mutzke in 2016: NAMIKA, known for songs such as “Lieblingsmensch,” performed on September 17, 2017. The concert was presented by Lippische Landes-Brandversicherung and organized by the event management team at Lippe Tourismus & Marketing GmbH.
