A1 Barntruper Stadtwald

Shortly after the start at the Waldfriedhof cemetery, you can enjoy a fantastic view of Barntrup with its charming castle as you head west along the edge of the forest. We then follow the rippling of the Selbecke and some time later we come to a small pond. Now turn left up into the forest. Once you reach the Höhengrenzweg, it is not far to the refuge. This is the best place to stop for refreshments and tackle the rest of the circular trail. We enjoy the distant view and descend slowly. Shortly before the B1, we keep left again and are now on the way back. We pass the small hiker's hut at the triangle before we have another beautiful view of Barntrup at the edge of the forest. A short time later, we are back at the hiking parking lot. You can see how attractive the trail is from the fact that the supra-regional hiking trails Nelkenweg, Burgensteig X2, Pilgern in Lippe and Weg der Blicke cross this circular trail or run parallel to it in places.
