Welcome to the "Open Air Museum" cycle tour! This 27.5 km circular tour leads from Bad Meinberg through the picturesque countryside to Detmold and on to the open-air museum. From there it goes via Heiligenkirchen, Berlebeck and Horn back to the starting point.

1. HISTORICAL SPA PARK BAD MEINBERG WITH SPA THEATRE
The 6.25-hectare historical spa park is one of the oldest mineral and mud spas in Germany. The park was laid out in the late Baroque period from 1767 and features a fountain temple and the spa theater, which seats 698 people.

2. HISTORICAL CITY CORE OF DETMOLD
In 1962, another park was built with Detmold is characterized by over 700 architectural monuments, which characterize the city center through three eras. The market square with the Donop Fountain forms the center of the old town, while the pedestrian zone and the small alleyways such as Adolfstrasse, Grabenstrasse and Auguststrasse with their half-timbered buildings offer a cozy atmosphere. The palace park with the Princely Residence Palace and the State Theater are further cultural highlights. 3.FREILICHTMUSEUM DETMOLD
The open-air museum, which opened in 1971, is known as the Westphalian State Museum of Everyday Culture and is one of the most important of its kind in Europe. It extends over 90 hectares and is home to around 120 historic buildings. The extensive grounds are surrounded by beautiful nature and are perfect for a day out with family or friends. Visitors can watch photographers, blacksmiths, bakers and potters at work in the workshops. The gardens, laid out according to historical models, are home to a variety of old plant species and varieties. In addition, old domestic animal breeds such as Senner horses, Siegerland red cattle and Lippe geese can be discovered on the pastures and meadows.

The Norderteich is an artificial lake near Billerbeck, which was created by damming. It was first mentioned in 1115 in the estate register of Corvey Abbot Erkenbert and is considered the oldest nature reserve in Lippe. Monks
once created the twelve-hectare pond to breed fish.
