The "Rund um Hillentrup" hiking trail is around 6.3 kilometers long and offers plenty of variety. It combines a quiet forest hike through beautiful beech forests with a "village tour" through historic Hillentrup.

The crossing of a small gorge over the "Martin Frevert Bridge", which is dedicated to the founder of the local history association "Nachbarschaft Hillentrup", is interesting. The path along the edge of the village above the Hillbach stream offers many beautiful views and insights into the long valley village. Those interested in history will find many interesting objects in the old village center, such as the old Frevert mill or the lovingly restored half-timbered houses around the church. With around 3,300 inhabitants, Hillentrup is the largest village in the municipality of Dörentrup. The oldest traces of settlement can be found at Amelungsburg Castle, which the trail passes by, and at the early historical fortifications on the Piepenkopf hill.

Trail markings: Marker sign with the inscription "Rund um Hillentrup"
