Hermann Monument
Since its inauguration in 1875, the Hermann Monument has become one of the most important excursion destinations in northern Germany. More than half a million people now visit the monument at Grotenburg Castle every year. Thanks to the extensive expansion of catering facilities and the careful creation of hiking trails of varying lengths, the landmark of the Teutoburg Forest also invites visitors to linger for longer.

Hinweise für Menschen mit Mobilitätseinschränkungen
Auf dem Parkplatz sind Behindertenstellplätze ausgewiesen.
Ein Behinderten-WC steht in der Nähe des Parkplatzes zur Verfügung.
Die Touristinformation am Hermannsdenkmal, der historische Pavillon und der Gastronomiebetrieb, einschließlich ihrer jeweiligen Zuwegungen, sind barrierefrei ausgebaut.
Der ca. 200 m lange Weg zwischen der Tourist Information und dem Hermannsdenkmal ist wegen des historischen Pflasters und der Steigung für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung nur mit einer gewissen Anstrengung zu überwinden. Rollstuhlfahrer benötigen Hilfestellungen. Das gleiche gilt für die Zuwegung zur Bandelhütte. In der Tourist Information bieten wir Ihnen kostenlos einen Rollstuhl und einen E-Scooter zum Verleih. Es ist nicht möglich, mit dem PKW bis zum Denkmal zu fahren.
Die Panoramaaussichtsplattform des Denkmals erreichen Sie ausschließlich über eine steile Wendeltreppe mit 100 Stufen.
Das weitläufige Waldgebiet rund um das Hermannsdenkmal ist nur bedingt geeignet für Menschen mit einer Gehbehinderung.
