In the case of the fountain, art was a collective work, not the elitist work of an individual. Here, art was democratized. The citizens were involved. They helped shape it and created a path to their community center. From the very beginning, the community center was considered as the location for this fountain - a place that is firmly anchored in the cultural life of the community and from which impulses for rest and movement emanate.
With the walkable path, the artist group "Kontaktkunst" combined the idea of combining commerce and culture (pedestrian zone and community center). Kontakt-Kunst is a unique form of sculptural activity in public spaces. The citizens' participation in the artwork is reflected in the form of the cobblestones, 22 in total. Behind this was the intention of each individual to carry on into the future, to "immortalize" themselves.
