Ehemalige Synagoge Oerlinghausen

Historic site
There has been a Jewish place of worship in Oerlinghausen since 1800. In 1938 - before the so-called "Reichskristallnacht" - the Jewish community sold the house due to the political situation and the building was saved from destruction. The former synagogue now serves as an exhibition space for contemporary painting and sculpture. The extremely active Kunstverein Oerlinghausen manages to bring highly acclaimed exhibitions to the mountain town time and time again.
