Alexanderkirche (Evangelische Kirche)

Church
The Romanesque Alexanderkirche (Protestant church of Oerlinghausen) was probably founded in the 9th century and was first named in a document in 1203.

The original walls of a Romanesque basilica can still be seen beneath the structure of today's church, which was essentially rebuilt between 1511 and 1514. The originally stumpy tower was only raised to its current height of 69 meters in 1878.

The organ with its carved façade (so-called peasant baroque) from 1688, the stained glass windows in the choir of the church (largely destroyed by the effects of war in 1945) and especially the oldest bell in the parish, which was cast in 1547, deserve special attention.
