Sonnenuhr

Monument
Baroque sundial made of sandstone, from the late 16th century.
The sundial originally stood in Schieder Castle Park, but was then moved to the newly created spa town of Meinberg in 1803 on behalf of the princely pension chamber.

There had been repeated complaints from spa guests about the inaccurate clocks in Meinberg. In 1815, a new tower clock was installed in the fountain house, meaning that the sundial was no longer needed.
