You will learn something about the climate of the past, the different characteristics of the present climate and we will venture a glimpse into the climate future with you. Simply experience the climate in its diversity and its interactions with nature and mankind.

On the Climate Experience Route Hiddeser Bent you can learn a lot about moors, their formation and the influence of the climate. We will take you on a journey into the near and distant past of climate and make climate change tangible for you. We will sharpen your eye for the plants along the way and explain why they grow here in particular.

Everybody can experience the climate in a different way.

For this purpose, you can expect a preview of how the landscape of the nature park is likely to change with the current climate change. Lying limestones or oak trunks, which are numbered consecutively, indicate climatic phenomena along the way.

On the approx. 17 km long KlimaErlebnisRoute Velmerstot you will learn a lot about the effects of weather, climate and air quality on your body. In addition, we give you a few suggestions for physical self-awareness. Another focus is climate change with its consequences for nature, land use and people.

We will show you developments in the landscape by which you can see how we are already reacting to climate change. The fascinating interactions between climate, nature and human health are made visible and tangible along the ClimateExperienceTrails.

Here you will learn, among other things, how the climatic conditions of historical times are still reflected in the landscape today and in what way today’s climatic conditions influence the flora and fauna, but also people.

For this purpose, you can expect a preview of how the landscape of the nature park is likely to change with the current climate change.
