Riding in the Land des Hermann

Every rider’s dream: a ride through unspoilt countryside with deep forests and sunny hills, past defiant castles, palaces and country estates, through fairytale half-timbered villages – and get on the trail of 800 years of history. In Lippe this dream comes true on more than 120 kilometres of picturesque riding routes and circular riding paths. Lippe has always been a land of horses. The famous alpine dairymen’s horses and the meetings appreciated by horse lovers such as the “Dressur-Spezial” in Bad Salzuflen, the “Horse Festival” in Remmighausen or the permanent exhibition “The Alpine Dairymen – Germany’s Oldest Horse Breed” in the LWL Open Air Museum Detmold bear witness to this. Especially popular is the beautiful ride from Kalletal-Niedermeien to Sternberg Castle in the Extertal. At a quiet pace through the hilly meadows and forests of the Lippe north and on the way a refreshment break for horse and rider – and the world is just fine.

Have fun with horse riding and carriage driving!
