The Prince’s Story: Season 1

The sights of the Lippe region are as varied as its history. And with it: Clear the stage for the Prince’s Story. In the first season we go on a voyage of discovery through the Land des Hermann and his past. We are accompanied by a travel guide who is rooted in the region and knows the region better than almost anyone else: Stephan Prinz zur Lippe. The starting point of our journey is the family’s ancestral home: the princely residence castle in Detmold. With Prinz Stephan we walk on historical traces, visit the house of a witch hunter and get to know a humanistic princess! History and stories – always charmingly and honestly told by a genuine prince whose family has played a decisive role in shaping the history of the Lipperland since the 12th century.

The Prince’s Story: Season 2

All this and more can be experienced in the second season of our Prince’s Story. Prinz Stephan explains the connection of his family to the Dutch royal house. He shows us the many facets of his homeland Lippe: from cultural highlights such as Brake Castle in Lemgo with its Weser Renaissance Museum, to the famous European landmark Hermann Monument, to a very personal sightseeing tour through his hometown Detmold.

The Prince’s Story: Season 3

In the third season of the Prince’s Story we accompany Prince Stephen to a famous natural monument in the land of Hermann: the mystical Externsteine, with which cultic and early Christian history, myths and legends are connected. We move along the paths of a blind Germanic seeress and immerse ourselves in early Christian rituals. In the Open Air Museum Detmold (LWL-Freilichtmuseum Detmold) we stand face to face with the oldest horse breed in Germany and immerse ourselves in 500 years of Westphalian everyday culture.

The Prince’s Story: Season 4

In the fourth season of the Prinzen Story we accompany Prince Stefan zur Lippe to two true treasures in the land of Hermann: the Kneipp and spa baths of the region, Bad Meinberg and Bad Salzuflen. We breathe fresh “sea breezes” – in the middle of the Lipperland! The private insights and personal memories that Prince Stephan associates with these places make it clear once again how strongly the family of our travel guide has influenced the history of these places.
