Nobody! Conquered! The Teutoburger Wald! In this episode of the Prince’s Story, we climb the legendary Externsteine – a mystical interplay of nature and culture that is second to none. And because there is so much to discover here, in this episode of the Prince’s Story we immerse ourselves once again in the special atmosphere and 500 years of Westphalian rural everyday life and historical craftsmanship in the Detmold Open Air Museum (LWL-Freilichtmuseum Detmold). Episode 4: Imposing natural and cultural monument: The Externsteine | Part 2
We meet Prince Stephan again at the Externsteine. This time the Prince’s Story takes us deep inside the Externsteine and we enter the grottos of the legendary rock formation. But what was the purpose of the caves? Were pagan rites held here before primeval times or baptismal services celebrated? Even a huge sculpture, which can be guessed in the rocks, gives puzzles. We speculate together with Prince Stephan.
