As part of the project WALK, the Competence Centre Hiking, a 16 m long footbridge was erected on the south side of Lake Schiedersee, as one of numerous sub-projects in Lippe, over the steep bank and an observation tower with information panels was erected on the north side.
Here you can get detailed information about the local fish species upstream and downstream and enjoy the view over the SchiederSee.
The natural design of the SchiederSee flood can be seen from the viewing platform on the northern shore. The course of the Emmer was separated from the SchiederSee, the river has regained its original course in the area of the lake. Unusual seating and play furniture can be explored near the observation tower: Students of the Detmold Hochschule für Architektur und Innenarchitektur of the Hochschule OWL have developed 7 maritime sculptures in a competition.
