Hike a beautiful section of the Hermannshöhen and enjoy nature in abundance, idyllic valleys and lively streams. Visit the Hermannsdenkmal, the Externsteine and then reward yourself on the Velmerstot with the most beautiful view of the Teutoburger Wald.

3 days/3 stages between 10 and 22 km

1st day:
Arrival in Bielefeld- Hiking on the Hermannsweg from Bielefeld to Oerlinghausen-Währentrup (approx. 15 km); your luggage will be picked up and taken to your hotel.

2nd day: Währentrup – Lage-Hörste-Hermannsdenkmal-Berlebeck-Holzhausen- Externsteine (approx. 22 km)
This is one of the most beautiful stages and in many ways the highlight of the Hermannsweg. Passing the picturesque Donoper pond you climb up to the Hermannsdenkmal. On the further way you can visit the bird park in Heiligenkirchen as well as the eagle observatory Berlebeck, the largest bird of prey observatory in Europe.

3rd day: Externsteine – Velmerstot
Before you start your journey home, we recommend a hike from the Externsteine, the striking rock formation protected as a geopoint, through the Silberbach valley to Velmerstot.
