Theofilius, who lives in the head of the Hermann monument, is no ordinary snowy owl. Theofilius is also called “Theofilius the Wise”, because there is no one in the world – so says Hermann van Veen’s story – who knows as much as he does.Theofilius invites students and teachers to a knowledge tour, combined with lots of fun and action. Various stations in and around Detmold invite you to explore, experience and learn. In cooperation with the youth hostel in the region, the owl tour for school classes is a varied and complete offer. An all-round supervision by experienced nature and adventure educators enables an individually tailored programme that is suitable for each class.
