The Hermannshöhen lead over the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest from the Münsterland to the Sauerland and are made up of the two quality hiking trails Hermannsweg and Eggeweg. They belong to the twelve Top Trails of Germany. stage hike from Holzhausen-Externsteine to Marsberg Total distance: approx. 72 kmGreat views await you on your hike along the award-winning Eggeweg. While you cover the 72 kilometres of the ridge trail in 3 day stages, your luggage will be driven to your next host. Your first accommodation will be in the immediate vicinity of the mysterious Externsteine, where you will start your hike after a restful night’s sleep. The hikes lead through the idyllic Silberbach Valley up to the highest mountain of the Egge Mountains, the “Velmerstot”. After another night in the traditional moor and spa resort of Bad Driburg, you continue your hike along the Egge ridge past Neuenheerse to Kleinenberg, where the last section of the Eggeweg leads you to Marsberg in the Sauerland, where your hike ends. You can spend another night here or take the German Railway back from there.
